Alejandro Almazan Zimerman

Alejandro Almazan Zimerman studied for an MSc in local economic development at the London School of Economics as a Chevening Scholar. He obtained a certificate on business intelligence from the ITAM, another on mediation and conflict resolution from the CIDE and a BA in financial management, graduating with honors, from the Tecnologico de Monterrey.

Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer of UNETE, a nonprofit focused on improving the quality and equity in the education sector in Mexico with the use of technology. Prior to these responsibilities, Alejandro worked at ProMexico as an executive advisor to the CEO, as well as a diplomat at the government’s business bureau based in London attracting foreign direct investment and promoting trade.

His experience in the private sector is mainly centered on the financial sector, where he worked as a financial associate at Mexico Retail Properties, a private equity focused on retail real estate, and as a financial analyst in the corporate and investment bank division of Banamex-Citigroup.
