Chris is currently Head of Markham College in Lima. He has been involved with IB World Schools as teacher and administrator in Singapore (UWCSEA), Switzerland (IS Geneva) and Hong Kong (Island School) for 30 years, before moving to Lima in 2017. In addition he served as chair of the IB Diploma Programme Committee at IBCA for four years. He has taught IB Mathematics at all levels and Theory of Knowledge. He has presented at several conferences and other events. He is the author of the Maths TOK play “It ain’t what you prove, it’s the way that you prove it.” His two websites Educhanges.com and Mathsthoughts.com contain all sorts of ideas to make people think about education in general and Mathematics in particular.
At Markham, Chris is involved in exploring learning spaces and hosted a conference on this subject in June 2018. In Hong Kong and in Lima, Chris has been interested in making interesting and radical changes to the secondary curriculum and the way it is delivered and assessed.
Chris was brought up in England and graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Mathematics.
