Pre-conference - October 18th - 22nd

The Safeguarding Alliance
Globally, neglect is still one of the most common reasons for child protection proceedings but can often be missed or dismissed by professionals. There is a lack of awareness around affluent neglect which presents practitioners with added complexities. This course will develop your awareness and understanding of affluent neglect ensuring you are able to identify and respond appropriately where a child and young person may be at risk.

The session focuses on crisis basics – before, during, and after a crisis – and the critical elements that every school should have in place as part of its crisis preparedness. We will share our inside-out approach to managing a crisis including first steps, communications cascade (timing and audiences), types of crises, optics, communication pain points, and proven crisis management strategies.
