Description
Line Manager: Director
● The HoS participates actively with the Director and Head of Primary in the leadership of the
school, together with the Business Manager forming the Executive SMT which meets regularly to
discuss whole-school strategic direction and issues.
● The HoS leads the Secondary School through effective leadership and management of the
Secondary School Leadership Team (inc. Deputy Head Pastoral, Deputy Head Curriculum, IB
Programme Coordinators), thereby developing a positive, supportive, values-based environment
that promotes both student learning and student wellbeing.
● Serve on the school’s Executive SMT and Wider SMT
● Ensure excellent value-for-money across secondary through effective management of own cost
centres and those delegated to secondary colleagues
● Serve as a model of the very best in personal conduct and professional practice and be a
passionate advocate for secondary staff and students and for the school’s values

Requirements
Qualifications:
Honours degree
QTS
NPQH or Masters in Education (preferably Educational Leadership)
Experience:
Department/Faculty Leadership
3+ years of Senior Leadership, preferably including time as a Deputy Head or similar
3+ years of experience in an international school, including at a senior level (experience in 2 or more
international schools would be welcome)
2+ years of experience in an IB school (experience of the MYP, especially of leading/managing the
programme would be very welcome)
Playing a key role in accreditation events like CIS, IBDP, MYP
